LA28 Olympics
Youth Economic Development Commission

Chartered to Build the Economic Future of Los Angeles, for the next generation.
Our Mission
The Los Angeles 2028 Youth Economic Development Commission (YEDC) is the premier youth-led body tasked with ensuring the 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games catalyze sustainable and equitable economic development across the Los Angeles region.
Our mandate is to directly interface with the LA28 Organizing Committee and City of Los Angeles departments to develop, oversee, and implement strategies that integrate local businesses into the Olympic ecosystem, stimulate neighborhood revenue, and create a lasting legacy of economic resilience.

Our Strategic Plan
The EFI distinguishes itself through a disciplined, three-pillar approach.
Policy & Economic Research
We produce original, data-driven research on Olympic economic impact. This includes mapping supply chain opportunities, analyzing tourist flow models, and developing policy briefs on how to mitigate economic displacement and foster inclusive growth. Our findings will be published in a formal report disseminated to city officials and local Business Improvement Districts (BIDs).
Strategic Business Integration
We bridge the gap between global event logistics and local economic actors. Our team identifies procurement opportunities, develops toolkits for small businesses to navigate LA28 vendor systems, and creates strategic guides for leveraging the global spotlight.
Driving Equitable Economic Development
We translate research into action. Our projects include developing "LA28 Local" certification programs, curating digital marketplaces for local vendors, and organizing community forums to ensure the economic benefits of the Games are distributed equitably across Los Angeles.
